Israel says it will close all health care clinics in occupied East Jerusalem

Israel will close down the only health care facility in East Jerusalem, health ministry officials said on Sunday.
In a statement on its website, the ministry said all facilities would close on Sunday at midnight.
“Israel will not permit the entry of people or goods into or out of the West Bank or Gaza Strip,” the statement said.
The ministry said that Israel’s decision would not affect the number of Palestinian residents in the occupied territories, but would affect access to health care.
It did not elaborate on the reasons for the closures.
Israeli security forces are trying to prevent Palestinians from entering the West, especially the Al-Aqsa mosque compound, which Israel captured in 1967.
Israel captured the Old City and parts of the Old Temple compound in 1967, and the Haram al-Sharif mosque compound in the Old Port of Jerusalem as well as a number of other holy sites.
Palestinians seek to establish a state in the West bank and Gaza Strip.
