Why I Am Leaving CentraCare
Posted On August 9, 2021
My husband and I have been trying to figure out what to do with our daughter, who has asthma.
I had a difficult time getting the doctors involved.
I was told I should leave, but I couldn’t do that.
The problem is, I don’t have insurance.
I am working part-time and can’t afford to be at my job.
We are in the midst of a big house-hunting trip and will be in the area for a while.
If Centra gets the health care bill for the kids, I can’t do it.
So, I am considering leaving the health plan.
That is what I am thinking of doing, and I am not getting out of it.
This is not the first time I have felt like leaving a family member.
We were also going through a difficult period when my husband was diagnosed with cancer and lost a lot of weight.
He had been battling for a year and a half with his illness and was having trouble staying healthy.
This has been really tough for us, and we have been struggling to balance all of that with his work.
So we have tried to make ends meet.
But it has been hard.
We have been going to and from work and have taken out loans to pay our bills, but the debt has gotten more and more expensive.
Now, we have to make do with less money every month, and that has made it difficult for our family.
We want to keep Centra, but it is going to be difficult to keep my husband on the program.
I have also tried to keep our kids busy at home, but our schedules are just not aligned.
I don,t think we have the time to be able to keep the family on the same schedule.
We will likely be able for awhile to keep it on the schedule we have, but that doesn’t seem like a very long time.
My husband’s health care costs are so high that it is a big problem.
We cannot afford to pay them out of pocket.
They have already made up the difference between his monthly premiums and what we are paying for him, so that’s why we are considering leaving.
Centra has a long-term agreement with my husband, so we will be on the other side of that agreement for the foreseeable future.
I can understand the frustration with the way it has all played out, but we have done everything right.
It has been a wonderful, fulfilling experience for us and our families.
We would like to thank our insurance companies for the generous coverage we have received.
We really appreciate your understanding.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call Centra at 800-634-9885.
I want to thank my colleagues at Centra and the staff at our offices at the University of Michigan for their dedication and help. Thank you.
